Let the spirit move you with these week’s slightly-belated mix, featuring the triumphant new Spirit Adrift, Autechre, Tom Waits, Sade, a mini power-pop suite, Tom Petty’s expanded Wildflowers and a virtual pouring-of-one-out for Girls’ Chet “JR” White. This year’s cruel and seemingly endless series of losses continues apace and all we can do is spin some records and remember some better times about it, which is precisely what I did with the essentially-perfect Girls discography last week. More to say on that later, perhaps, but here’s this for now.
