Hey everyone. As you might have noticed, Everybody Talking has been rather sporadically updated in the past few months with pretty much nothing but show reviews. I’ll attribute this partially to my own laziness, but also to an unexpectedly high volume of non-music things happening 

Show review: Mogwai at House of Blues – 6/16

After multiple delays, cancellations, venue changes and visa issues, post-rock mainstays Mogwai finally made their way to Boston Saturday night in support of last year’s Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will. Balam Acab opened.

Show review: Radiohead at Comcast Center – 5/29

England’s inimitable art-rock titans Radiohead graced Massachusetts with their presence last night for the first time since 2008. This marks the start of the final leg of their North American tour in support of The King of Limbs, and they brought along Canadian electronic act 

Show review: Spiritualized at Paradise Rock Club – 5/9

Veteran UK space rockers Spiritualized brought their Sweet Heart Sweet Light tour to the Paradise this month, with support from country songstress Nikki Lane.

Show review: WU LYF at Brighton Music Hall – 4/28

Did England’s most mysteriously enigmatic ‘heavy pop’ band play their final show ever in Allston a few weeks back? It’s a very real possibility. At least they’ll have gone out in style, supported by Chicago’s breakout folk weirdo Willis Earl Beal.

Show review: Archers of Loaf at Middle East Downstairs – 4/27

Reunited Chapel Hill indie rockers Archers of Loaf played the first of two nights at Cambridge’s Middle East Downstairs last Friday, with support from Merge label-mates Pipe and newcomers Hundred Visions.

So, this year’s annual Record Store Day has come and gone, and what have we learned? For one thing, record collectors (and reseller scumbags) are taking this event more and more seriously with each passing year. My store of choice was the original Newbury Street
