Gig Watch – November 2024

Shows not to miss in and around Boston for the month of November.
__________
Halloween’s over and it’s time to give thanks for the gig? I dunno, here’s what’s up for November:
11/6 – Iron Maiden @ DCU Center
Heavy metal legends Iron Maiden return to MA for their “Future Past” 2024 tour, highlighting their most recent LP Senjutsu and 1986’s Somewhere in Time at Worcester’s charmingly old-fashioned DCU Center.
11/7-11/9 – Rebuilder @ O’Brien’s Pub
Local punk favs Rebuilder host a three-night stand at O’Brien’s featuring a rotating cast of friends in the opening slots.
11/12-11/13 – Adrienne Lenker @ Shubert Theater
Big Thief leader Adrienne Lenker brings her transfixing solo show on its biggest tour yet for two nights at the Shubert.
11/13 – Six Organs of Admittance @ Middle East Upstairs
Ben Chasny takes over the Mid East for an assuredly exploratory evening with his experimental/psych-folk project Six Organs.
11/15 – Hallelujah the Hills @ Deep Cuts
Marking exactly five years of their excellent 2019 LP I’m You, Ryan Walsh’s indie/folk/rock collective HTH will play the record front to back at Deep Cuts.
11/15 – Kris Thompson’s Birthday Bash @ Lilypad
Boston psych scene fixture Kris Thompson (of The Prefab Messiahs, Magic Shoppe and beyond) hosts a trippy birthday party at Cambridge’s Lilypad featuring an evening’s worth of video art projections and exploratory sounds courtesy of Daughter of the Vine, Bong Wish, Spectre Folk and The Soul Family Band.
11/15 – Ratboys @ The Sinclair
And across town, jangly indie rock greats Ratboys team up with former Bostonians Palehound for a fun Friday night at Sinclair.
11/16 – Kal Marks @ Deep Cuts
Speaking of former Bostonians, the now Brooklyn-based noise-rockers Kal Marks return to town for a headliner with stacked support from Black Beach and Paper Lady.
11/17 – Chat Pile @ The Sinclair
Supporting their characteristically upsetting second record Cool World, sludgy OKC crew Chat Pile make their way back to Cambridge for an unchill Sunday evening.
11/19 – Modest Mouse @ MGM Music Hall
Isaac Brock and company celebrate 20 years of their divisive-to-some, classic-to-others commercial peak Good News for People Who Love Bad News with an anniversary tour at MGM.
11/21 – Origami Angel @ Big Night Live
Shred-y emo duo Origami Angel bring their indefatigable live show back to town to headline their biggest Boston show to date.
11/23 – Godspeed You! Black Emperor @ Roadrunner
With support from Low’s Alan Sparhawk, Canadian post-rock icons GB!YE visit Roadrunner for the first time supporting October’s stirring No Title.
11/27 – Blood Incantation @ Brighton Music Hall
Denver prog-death-metal luminaries Blood Incantation host a pre-Thanksgiving communion with the stargate on tour behind Absolute Elsewhere, their headiest album yet.
