A Constant Knowledge of Death, Diva Karr played O’Brien’s – 1/26
A heavy bill featuring locals A Constant Knowledge of Death, Diva Karr, Prayer Position and The Cost ov Living leveled O’Brien’s last month.
__________
I spilled a lot of virtual ink last month extolling the virtues of the O’Brien’s Pub midwinter calendar, but among a heap of great shows, perhaps none had me feeling so grateful for (Greater) Boston music as this one.
A Constant Knowledge of Death – who released the great prog-post-sludge LP Dissecting a One-Winged Bird last year – headlined a night spanning all manner of Massachusetts heaviness. Prayer Position‘s blackened punk onslaught was pure ferocity, Diva Karr‘s throttling black metal practically tore a hole through the roof, and The Cost ov Living led things off with a bracing noise set featuring the scariest artist-to-audience eye contact I’ve experienced in recent memory. Played to an enthusiastic packed house, it was a gig reinforcing (once again) why we’ve got something special in Boston’s metal scene.
