Bedbug and Future Teens’ Amy Hoffman played Brighton Center – 6/27

The pair took over the new Brighton Center Pop-Up Plaza for an Allston Pudding-presented afternoon gig.

I mentioned being excited for more unconventional outdoor gigs this summer in my last gallery post, and the universe delivered. Not only will we get to see Hallelujah the Hills perform at dusk in front of a historic ship (!) in a few weeks, but Allston Pudding recently teamed up with Brighton Main Streets for a short series of gigs at the heart of Brighton Center. An errant siren or two aside, the setting was quite a lovely spot for a low-key acoustic show on a warm afternoon from two Boston favs.

Bedbug kicked things off with new songs, old ones and a genuinely stirring cover of The Fray’s “Over My Head” – accurately called out as the “Wonderwall” of the mid-aughts. Hoffman followed up with new songs of their own, and some Future Teens jams that no one’s gotten to sing along to in public for far too long. Check out a gallery of both sets below.
