Seed and Non- played the Democracy Center – 1/18
Local noisemakers Seed and Non- played a tour-return show with Wimp in Cambridge.
There’s something magical about watching the snow fall through the idyllic window situated directly behind the drummer during a skull-rattling metal set – a scene that could perhaps only take place at Harvard Square’s Democracy Center. Last Saturday night was indeed a cold, windy and snowy one, but that didn’t stop plenty of folks from turning out to welcome back a pair of Boston’s finest from their winter tour.
Both the atmospheric doom-bringers Seed and the shoegaze/black metal/post-punk-indebted Non- are making some of the city’s most inspired racket these days, and rank among its finest live acts too. With queercore rippers Wimp opening the bill (their last gig before a planned hiatus), this wasn’t one to miss.
