Major Stars and Feral Ohms played ZuZu – 6/19
Locals Major Stars and Oakland’s Feral Ohms whipped up a heavy-psych firestorm at Cambridge’s ZuZu on a recent Monday night, with support from NYC’s Honey.
Any gig from noise rock jam purveyors Major Stars is cause for celebration, and a team-up with Feral Ohms – a new power-trio fronted by Comets On Fire’s Ethan Miller – was surely not an evening to be missed. The Ohms suffered an unfortunate setback with a bass player waylaid in Chicago by weather, but pulled through with a Major Stars sit-in and delivered a raging set consisting of a single 20-plus-minute High Rise cover. Major Stars closed out the night with their signature bombast, riffing up close with the crowd in ZuZu’s tiny confines. Brooklynites Honey offered a strong opening set earlier in the night, like-mindedly radiant and noisy.
