Laura Marling played the Paradise – 5/16

U.K. singer/songwriter Laura Marling headlined a sold-out Paradise Rock Club last Tuesday in support of her March release Semper Femina

Marling, a beloved folk singer destined for larger venues than the ‘Dise – and who should be perhaps playing them already – regaled a reverent crowd with gorgeous renditions of her songs in both solo and full-band settings. Openers Valley Queen, who leaned toward a more electrified folk-rock sound, also delivered an impressively polished set. Extra points for a spot on Destroyer cover (Rubies gem “Painter In Your Pocket.”)
