Ovlov played O’Brien’s Pub – 9/5

Connecticut noise-rockers Ovlov – reunited and currently on a U.S. tour with the U.K.’s Basement – took an off night to headline Allston’s favorite hole-in-the-wall on Monday. 

I’ve had the pleasure of catching Ovlov frontman Steve Hartlett’s other, similarly-minded project Stove a few times in the past year, but somehow had never seen Ovlov themselves during their original run or subsequent reunion(s). I was psyched to catch them on Monday with a fantastic cast of supporting locals, including Exploding in Sound labelmates Bad History Month, the bubble-y (wait for it) Dust From 1000 Yrs and joyous garage-punks Nice Guys.
