11/1 – Vince Staples @ Roadrunner
Long Beach rapper Vince Staples brings his current tour supporting June’s Crybaby to Roadrunner, complete with a full live band.
11/5-11/6 – Sweeping Promises @ Deep Cuts
Infectiously catchy art-punk duo Sweeping Promises take over Deep Cuts for a two-night stand joined by some killer openers, including KO Queen for Thursday’s show and Landowner on Friday.
11/5 – Lea Jaffe / Kira McSpice / Luci Dead Limb @ The Lilypad
If you’ve been remotely tuned into the dark and doom-y underground of greater Boston music over the last 10 years, you know all these folks from various solo or full band endeavors, and that it’ll be an absolute treat to catch all three teaming up for a night at the Lilypad.
11/6 – A Place to Bury Strangers / Adult. @ The Sinclair
It’ll be a strong contender for the year’s most sensory-overload gig when strobe-blasted NYC noise-rock maniacs APTBS return to town with Detroit electro-punk duo Adult. Pack your earplugs.
11/10 – Protomartyr @ Crystal Ballroom
Assuming you’re not taking in one of the very sold-out Geese shows across town, it’s a night with Michigan post-punk stalwarts Protomartyr that should draw you out of the house. The band’s latest, Hotel Usona, breaks new sonic and stylistic ground for some of their most compelling music to date.
11/11 – Hamilton Leithauser + Rostam @ Somerville Theater
Celebrating the 10th anniversary of their retro-flavored chamber-pop collab I Had a Dream That You Were Mine, Walkmen frontman Hamilton Leithauser and ex-Vampire Weekender Rostam will hit the road together again this month.
11/13 – Basement @ Roadrunner
U.K. emo/post-hardcore institution Basement close out their fall tour at Roadrunner, topping a mega-bill that also includes local sister-band Fiddlehead and London’s High Vis
11/14 – Zip-Tie Handcuffs @ O’Brien’s Pub
Local psych rippers ZTH headline a free afternoon matinee at OB’s.
11/19 – Gollylagging / Jonny Tex / Bus Crush / King’s Evil @ Deep Cuts
Boston indie rock luminaries Gollylagging throw a record release show for October’s Real Life alongside a stacked bill of local favs.
11/20 – Minibeast / Thalia Zedek Band @ O’Brien’s Pub
The prog-y psychedelic madness of Peter Prescott’s Minibeast and the ever-compelling TZ Band are an easy sell for a Friday night out in Allston.
11/21 – Cowardice / Cementation Anxiety @ The Allston Abbey
Get your fill of doom at church as Cowardice and Cementation Anxiety mark the release of new collaborative record You Have Taught Me Everything That I Know at the lord’s spot (also featuring a relatively rare opening set from local post-metal greats Sea).
11/22 – Trans Day of Resistance ft. Ezra Furman / Ted Leo & more @ Deep Cuts
Grace Givertz, Evan Greer and more also hop on a huge bill to benefit Protect Trans Futures during a matinee mini-fest in Medford.
