Across town, funeral doom masters Bell Witch and dark folk artist Aerial Ruin bring their collaborative creation Stygian Bough to life at the Mid East.

6/6 – Bent Shapes @ Deep Cuts
Beloved Boston indie pop crew Bent Shapes make a long-awaited return to the stage in Medford, with support from likeminded locals Beeef and Colleen Green.

6/11 – Echo & The Bunnymen @ Roadrunner
U.K. post-punk legends Echo & The Bunnymen still put on a strong show, and the opening set at their Boston stop this month will see scene stalwart Joe McMahon return to the stage with his jazz trio for the first time since suffering a heart attack earlier this year.
6/11 – Husbands / Kaleidoscope Crux / Slow Quit / Warmachine @ O’Brien’s Pub
Over the highway, there’s also a great local shoegaze bill joining Louisiana’s Kaleidoscope Crux at OB’s.
6/12 – Hallelujah the Hills @ The Haven
It’s World Cup time, as you may have heard, and Boston’s finest folk-rock collective Hallelujah the Hills will play JP’s The Haven as part of the restaurant’s tournament programming directly ahead of team USA’s opening match on the 12th.
6/14 – Robyn Hitchcock @ Brighton Music Hall
Indefatigable singer/songwriter Robyn Hitchcock returns to town with a full electric band for his BMH gig this month.
6/19 – Spoon @ Fete Music Hall
A Friday night trek down to Rhode Island might be a tough sell, but ought to be worth it for indie rock royalty Spoon at Olneyville’s Fete – a considerably smaller room than the band usually hits in New England.
6/20 – Jimmy Eat World @ MGM Music Hall
Emo-power-pop masters Jimmy Eat World celebrate 25 years of their classic Bleed American at MGM this month, with support from Thrice and a rare Boston appearance by Girls Against Boys.

In what will somehow be their first Boston headlining show in nearly 20 years, NYC icons The Strokes hit the Garden alongside a fun undercard of Thundercat and The Walkmen’s Hamilton Leithauser.
6/28 – Weird Nightmare @ Deep Cuts
Ex-Metz leader Alex Edkins brings his power-pop project Weird Nightmare to town behind new LP Hoopla.
6/30 – Tortoise @ The Sinclair
And finally, post-rockers Tortoise make their way back to the Boston area for the first time in more than a decade for a Sinclair stop at month’s end.
