Ovlov headlined a Deep Cuts Deli benefit at Great Scott – 9/1
Allston’s Great Scott paid host to a monster six-band benefit show for Deep Cuts Deli on Saturday night, featuring the talents of Ovlov, Kindling, Bad History Month, Settler, Ozlo and Saccharine.
Founder Ian McGregor describes his vision for Deep Cuts as “a wholesome, daytime deli” that transforms into “a nighttime artists’ sanctuary showcasing bands, movie screenings, and art shows,” and the Eye Design chief is currently raising funds via Indiegogo to make the space a reality.
Saturday’s six-band bash contributed to the effort with some of New England’s best and brightest. Saccharine, who have a new record out via Disposable America at the end of the month, kicked things off as one of the night’s two solo acoustic sets – alongside Sean Bean’s Bad History Month. Ozlo and Settler rounded out the Greater Boston portion of the bill, while Western Mass shoegazers Kindling and noisy Connecticut quartet Ovlov (who released their new LP in July) closed the evening well past midnight.
