I don’t make it out to the basement as often as I ought to, but I rarely regret the trip. On Friday, Philly’s Lovelorn (consisting of 3/4s of the recently disbanded Creepoid) headlined a heavy evening with a psychedelic, fog-drenched set. Kindling – a band I’ve been meaning to catch for a long while – spun their own take on the shoegaze template to swooning, blisteringly loud effect. Locals Elizabeth Colour Wheel, meanwhile, topped off the night with their careening, genre-agnostic attack. Photos from the whole show below.
